A 2007 study by the Federal Highway Administration: WILDLIFE-VEHICLE COLLISIONS REDUCTION: 2007, suggests putting radio collars on elk that would signal special driver alert highway safety devices. The radio collars would activate these driver alert devices whenever endangered wildlife was in the area.
